A Little Update

Friday, 1 July 2016

So Dodie from Doddleoddle recently posted the below video, and I don't think I've ever felt something more keenly than I feel this right now. Just as Dodie's channel has been quiet lately so too has this little blog of mine. Not quite in the same way of course. I haven't been travelling to the USA and touring and what not. HAHAHA no. But I have been extremely busy as of late. And as a result I've neglected my blog. So I thought I'd let you know what I've been up to these past couple of months in the hope that it'll rekindle my love for blogging and get me back on track.

Since my last update, a lot has changed. I was only just recovering from my surgery and was about to go back at work. I've been back a while now and I'm feeling pretty much back to normal. It was strange having to speak so much after not being able to at all, but I think going back into work helped my recovery along. And I'm feeling pretty good about it. I found out that I'm getting my braces off soon which to tell you I can't wait would be an understatement! I'll likely do a post all about my braces at a later date.

Something that I'm extremely happy about but has contributed to me being so incredibly busy is I've been travelling around. In May, Matt and I went on a much needed, all-inclusive holiday to Zakynthos in Greece. It was beautiful and so relaxing. Matt had travelled down to Stoke a lot whilst I was recovering all whilst working and so he was very much in need of a break and my recovery certainly wasn't relaxing. So we didn't really do much on holiday but that's what we wanted and we felt so much better for it. In June, I managed to squeeze in two trips. I went to Berlin with Matt and a couple of his family members. It was mainly to see Muse live, which was very, very good! But we managed to look around the city and I really loved it! It was a place I would definitely recommend and I would really like to visit again. My second trip was to Istanbul to visit a uni friend who was teaching English there. Again it was so fun seeing my friends after four months and the city was beautiful. I feel like a learned about a culture I wasn't too familiar with as well.

The second thing, the main thing really that resulted in this blogging break is that Matt and I found a flat and have moved in! Something I am just so happy about! We applied for the flat before the holiday to Greece and found out whilst we were there that we'd got it. Moving in day was on the 19th May so we've been here over a month now. We still not quite set up but we're getting there. But we love our little home so much! It's so nice having a space that's all our own.

Now that I'm feeling slightly more organised you should hopefully be seeing more posts.

Thanks for reading!
