I Graduated! (OOTD)

Friday, 17 July 2015

On Wednesday, I attended my graduation ceremony. I now officially have a 2:1 Bachelor of Arts in English and History. I've been forced into the real world with no plans, no money and no idea.

It's an odd feeling. Because I'm not doing a postgraduate, at least not this year, I don't have that routine summer holiday that I've had since I was three. I'm already working as I worked all the way through university so I'm not in a rush to enter into a job. I certainly have no intention of staying at the bingo hall I currently work at but it's a strange feeling being an adult with a degree ready to do whatever it is that adults do.

University was one of the best decisions I've made. I met so many different people and learnt what it was like to live with them. I made some of my best friends at university, friends I hope to have for the rest of my life. I made some bad decisions, but I also had some of the best times. Most importantly I became who I am now. University gave me the space to learn and grow as a person and figure out who I am. I'll miss it. But I'm excited for what is to come next.

What I wore

Before graduation I had no idea what to wear. I'd read online that it was better to wear a blouse and a skirt because the hood that comes with robes needed a button to attach to. I also read it was better to stick to neutral black and white so as not to clash with the robes. After going to Matt's graduation I decided to disregard that and find something I was comfortable wearing.

I went shopping and found this really pretty dress in H&M, a place I'd previously never shopped in. It's a blue and white floral skater dress. It has a low back which I thought made the dress I little bit more interesting. With it, I decided to wear my wedge sandals that I've had forever. They're are comfortable enough to be walking around in for a lengthy time whilst still making the outfit look dressy and formal. Have any of you graduated recently? Let me know below.

Dress - H&M, £14.99

Sandals - Old
